White spots or streaks on your teeth can be caused by overexposure to fluoride as a child. This condition is called dental fluorosis and can be treated by your dentist to help reduce the impact on your smile.
"Children under the age of six generally shouldn’t use mouth rinses that contain fluoride, and your dentist can advise you on the right type of toothpaste for your child to avoid both cavities and dental fluorosis."
