Root canal treatment is conducted to preserve a tooth that is damaged or infected; there are also other treatment options available:
- Alternatives to a root canal filling include calcium hydroxide solution, ozone gas therapy or the tooth being extracted.
- If an extraction is conducted, a tooth replacement will be required to ensure other teeth don't move.
- The dentist will be happy to discuss all the options and recommend the best treatment option.
