A child's first permanent teeth begin to appear at around age six thereby causing the baby teeth to be pushed out and lost. This is a natural process and nature should be let take its course unless some unexpected difficulty should arise.

Such situations are rare and can usually be avoided by:

- Ensuring the child maintains good dental health practices

- Having the teeth and gums regularly checked by a dentist

- Encouraging the child to gently wiggle the loose tooth but without using excessive force

Unless recommended by a dentist, it's better to let baby teeth fall out naturally and not to intervene in the process.
